Since being launched, the second generation SILEX has had an excellent reception from riders and the press alike, plus a historic victory at the 2024 UCI Gravel World Championships underneath Matej Mohorič. The latest review from off.road.cc has added to that, with an excellent 4/5 score while being praised for being "ideal for technical sections of gravel trail".

With a renewed focus on adventure riding, the SILEX 700 tested has increased tyre clearance and revised geometry. These changes stood out to the reviewer, saying that the aluminium framed machine was: "an affordable gravel machine which is capable of taking on more technical terrain than most" and that "The Silex is a lot of fun to ride and I think a lot of that comes down to [...] the slacker head angle".

The new adventure-ready focus of the bike was also singled out, with the tester saying that "I could spend many hours on this bike without feeling fatigued" and that "the frame and fork have a good ride quality which when paired with the relaxed riding position means that the Silex is a very good mile muncher."

The SILEX 700 is fitted with Shimano's robust gravel-specific GRX groupset, which came in for praise, with the tester saying: "The shifting is clean and crisp even when the groupset is covered in dust or mud"

The reviewer summed up by saying: "I really liked the earlier Silex but this new model is better in every way".
