Gravelbike magazine tests the SILEX 700

In the recently published German Gravelbike magazine (01/2024) our SILEX was tested twice. Once in the individual test and once in the frame comparison test between the aluminium (SILEX 700) and carbon (SILEX 7000) version.

In the individual test, the SILEX 700, with its well-made aluminium frame, didn't have to hide behind the carbon version, which won the UCI Gravel World Championship last October with Matej Mohoric in the saddle. The editorial team found that the new SILEX had become "significantly more attractive".

The "more upright, more comfortable riding position" suits the bike's purpose, "because the SILEX really wants to be the adventure bike in the MERIDA fleet". The "numerous mounting points on the frame and fork" underline this. MERIDA has also considered "fender mounts and preparation for a hub dynamo".

The aluminium version of the SILEX is a "solid companion" that conquers gravel tracks "safely and fearlessly" and conveys "a lot of confidence".

The team’s conclusion:
"With the aluminium version of the new SILEX, MERIDA offers an affordable gravel bike with all-round qualities, from bikepacking use to world championship titles".
