ONE-FORTY 10K impresses and gets "Excellent" in Germany's BIKE magazine
In the current issue of BIKE magazine (04/2023), the test crews looked at "readers' dream bikes", and of course, our brand new, feature-laden, and beautifully finished ONE-FORTY 10K was not to be missed. After an extensive test and the final verdict of "Excellent", it even triggered a "want one" desire amongst the 'spoiled for choice' editorial team.
In addition to the "dazzling paintwork and beautiful design", our bike impresses with "technical refinements and clever detail solutions", like the storage compartment in the down tube or a mini tool under the saddle. "But that's not all: mini mudguards on the rear triangle and fork crown catch the roughest dirt, and MERIDA fits the magnetic Fidlock bottle cage ex works." Another unique selling point is the "telescopic seat post with a maximum of 230 mm travel" and variable adjustment range. This means that even "smaller riders can choose a longer frame for a smoother ride without being limited by the maximum seat post insertion". Finally, a flip chip also allows the rider to choose - depending on preference - between a 27.5-inch and a 29-inch wheel on the rear.
The ONE-FORTY also performs well uphill. "While the majority of modern all-mountain bikes are increasingly merging with the even more downhill-heavy enduro bikes," the ONE-FORTY's "very modern and forward-surging geometry...really does get you over the hills with ease ". The sporty seating position also generates a lot of "pressure on the front and control over the front wheel". The "efficient and pedal neutral rear end underlines the sporty character" of the ONE-FORTY. The rear end always remains "pleasantly calm", even when pedalling hard. The testers also praised the bike's good overall weight. The ONE-FORTY "accelerates [...] light-footed and encourages you to tackle long days in the saddle."
Editorial conclusion:
"Even if you don't directly associate MERIDA with exclusive luxury bikes, with the ONE-FORTY 10K, the industry giant has put an object of desire on two wheels. The riding characteristics are convincing. The many well thought-out detail solutions are additional plus points."
