Aktiv Radfahren tests the SILEX 7000

German ‘Aktiv Radfahren’ magazine which looks at everything ‘two-wheeled’ while focusing more on the ‘non-competitive’ side of the sport has tested in SILEX 7000 in their issue 04/2018.

Our new ‘all road’ bike impressed with its light, beautiful and feature rich carbon frame as well as with its impressive spec package and huge amount of attachment points. It impressed the tester so much that they have the SILEX 7000 their ‘KAUFTIP – SEHR GUT’ (‘BUYING TIP – VERY GOOD’) award/rating.  

VERDICT (TRANSLATED FROM GERMAN):
'MERIDA has strong roots in mountain biking. The geometry of the SILEX is inspired by that and has a long reach paired with a short stem and a tall head tube. This makes the bike feel really planted and safe, also helped by the high front end. The frame is comfortable yet stiff – perfect for riding on tarmac, gravel and off-road. The 35mm Maxxis semi-slick tyres roll well but need a little bit more tread for deep and muddy terrain. A fantastic touring, long distance and everyday bike…'
