Wideopen calls the ONE-TWENTY a “cracking bike”

Joining us at the launch of the ONE-TWENTY in the South West of England, the Wideopen Crew were thrown into the deep end, riding and testing our new short travel trail bike not around some groomed trail centre tracks but over the three days of THE MERIDA EX enduro race that served more than 20 timed sections but also more than 4,000 m of climbing.

Clearly, it was the perfect testing ground for our new ‘jack of all trades’, and the testing crew walked away with the lasting impression of how capable, versatile and easy to handle the bike was.

When listing what they loved, they pointed out that it “Covers the ground. Fast”, ideal for an all-rounder short travel trail bike, that it is a “Confidence-inspiring ride”, handy when testing the bike over three days of blind enduro racing, and finally “Major bang for your buck”, which was very much top of our agenda when we started the development process of the ONE-TWENTY.

When asked what the bike could do better, they commented, “not an awful lot”. Result!

HERE THEIR FINAL VERDICT:
“The new Merida One-Twenty is a cracking bike that offers plenty of bang for your buck and can either be an introduction to full suspension mountain biking or let you take on a three-day enduro. I asked likely too much of this bike at The Ex, but I stayed upright for the duration, and I had fun doing it.”
